Premier Motors Limited (PML) has been set up to expand the automotive business of its parent, the Premier Systems (Private) Limited. PML has entered into a CKD Assembly License Agreement with the world’s largest automobile manufacturer, Volkswagen AG (“VWAG”), to supply and assemble vehicles in Pakistan. The Volkswagen Group (with its headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany) comprises twelve brands from seven European countries including Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, SEAT, ŠKODA, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Ducati, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Scania and MAN. Each brand has its own character and operates as an independent entity in the market. The product spectrum ranges from motorcycles to small cars to luxury vehicles.
PML has the “Category A Greenfield Investment” status by the Federal Ministry of Industries & Production to setup a CKD Assembly plant of Skoda and Volkswagen in Pakistan. The CKD assembly plant shall have a nameplate capacity of 30,000 units per annum to be set up at a cost of PKR 16 Billion. The State of the Art CKD assembly plant is currently being constructed in Hub, about 28 km from Karachi. Start of Production is expected to be July 2023.
